PARENTS

Are we having fun yet?

Being a parent has to be the most rewarding thing in life and at the same time, there are moments when we are praying for the return of Christ....QUICKLY.

As most of you know we have a preteen group at Lifespring called TSUNAMI.

A tsunami is a giant wave caused by an underwater earthquake or volcanic eruption. You can't see the earthquake because it's underwater but you see the effects of the earthquake (the tsunami). It's a lot like God…you can't see him because he's on the inside but you can see the effects of God in your life.

When I think of a tsunami I think of something huge and something that is hard to stop once it gets going.

I'm excited about what I believe God is going to do in your children. I believe we are going to have a LOT of fun…we are going to grow closer to each other…we are going to see God work in us and through us as we do things for others.

Statistics show that 8 out of 10 kids who grow up in church will walk away from church by the time they graduate from high school. We are committed to coming along side of parents to change this. Allow me to be blunt for a moment…this won’t automatically happen. If this is important to us then we (both as parents and as a church) need to develop a strategy to make sure our children become the exception. Ultimately it is about helping our children develop their own relationship with God.

Two important questions need to be asked…

1.  What can I do as a parent to make sure my children are the exception?

2.  What can we do as a church to make sure our children are the exception?

We hope to have articles available before long as well as some parenting question/answers.
